#100 Days Of Illustrated Worship day 1-6

Thanks for visiting and following me on my journey with #The100DayProject
I have taken my Illustrated Faith Praise Book from Day Spring and turned it into my "100 Days of Illistrated Worship" Book. I will be sharing a weeks worth of pages every Sunday here on the blog from now untill July 27th.  If you would like to see my pages daily you can follow me on instagram: @Krystal_Marie_B

For the first day of #100daysofillustratedworship I wanted to illustrate the song "Here I am to worship" by Hilsong.  The lyrics say exactly what this whole project is really about for me.  Worshiping our Great God!
"Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes and let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You
Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
Altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days, oh so highly exalted
You're glorious in heaven above, yes You are
Humbly You came to this Earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
Altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin up on that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin up on that cross

Day two's song reminds be of the goodness, and the love that our  good Father pours out onto us. Here I used stickers, diecuts, and papers from the Illustrated Faith "She Blooms" Collection
"You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
Oh, and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we're all searching
For answers only you provide
Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word."

I recently ordered these cute little alphabet stamps from Valerie Wieners Art, and wanted to break them in for the first time on day 3 to illustrate Tenth Avenue North's song "Losing".  This song reminds me that Jesus said to forgive those who have sinned against us not 7 times but 7x70 times. We must forgive others just as Jesus has forgiven us.
"Oh, Father won't You forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin' (oh no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'
Well it's only the dead that can live
But still I wrestle with this
To lose the pain that's mine
Seventy times seven times
'Cause Lord it doesn't feel right
For me to turn a blind eye
Though I guess it's not that much
When I think of what You've done."

I blast this song every time I hear it come on my radio.  What an amazing thing as a follower of Christ to know he is coming again soon.

A few months ago I picked up Tim Holtz new distress crayons and, they are simply amazing. They were so creamy and blended nicely. I prepped my page with some Liquitex matte medium, before putting down any of the distress crayon.  This helps to prime the page and makes the paper a non porous surface, making the distress crayons able to blend easier, and better.  I wanted to use some of the Illustrated Faith stickers from "His Promise" with the lyrics to Danny Gokey's song "Hope in front of me."

"I've been running through rain that I thought would never end
Trying to make it on faith in a struggle against the wind
I've seen the dark and the broken places
But I know in my soul no matter how bad it gets, I'll be alright
There's hope in front of me
There's a light I still see it
There's a hand still holding me
Even when I don't believe it
I might be down but I'm not dead
There's better days still up ahead
Even after all I've seen, there's hope in front of me."

I wanted to keep today's simple and quick.  After hearing Unspoken's song "Start a fire" I knew that was the song for the day to illustrate.  The words hit me hard, and were a reminder of a conversation I had earlier that day with a patient at work.  It was an affirmation for me.
"Over and over again
I hear Your voice in my head
Let Your light shine, let Your light shine for all to see
Start a fire in my soul
Fan the flame and make it grow
So there's no doubt or denying
Let it burn so brightly
That everyone around can see
That it's You, that it's You that we need
Start a fire in me
You only need a spark to start a whole blaze
It only takes a little faith."
Unspoken - Start a fire - Lyrics

The 100 Day Project

Hello, and welcome to the Mixed Media Attic.  I wanted to share with you all something fun and exciting that I will be starting on later today.  Some of you may already know about The 100 day Project, and have seen people sharing about it on Instagram via hashtag #The100DayProject , and some of you may have no idea at all, what it is that I'm talking about.  So below at the end of the post I have a link with some more information on the Project and exactly what it is all about. For the next 100 days I have decided to use my beautiful Illustrated Faith Praise Book that I have been hoarding, afraid to use the last 2 months and turn it into my 100 Days OF Illustrated Worship Book.

Every day I listen to praise and worship music and I find myself wanting to use lyrics to a worship song in my bible journal but there are times that I do not know what verse fits the lyrics. Each day I want to pick a song from now until July 27th to Illustrate and journal in my Illustrated Faith praise book.  I will be posting my projects for each day every Sunday.  Stay tuned to see what the next 100 days will bring.

What Is the 100-Day Project? It’s a celebration of process that encourages everyone to participate in 100 days of making. The great surrender is the process; showing up day after day is the goal. For the100-Day Project, it’s not about fetishizing finished products—it’s about the process.

Blessings,
Krystal Barto
