Bible Journaling Week 1 of Lent

Hello friends and welcome to the Mixed Media Attic. This past Wednesday as some of you may know was Ash Wednesday. It is a day of fasting, prayer, and repentance.  It is the first day of Lent in Christianity.  Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and last about six weeks leading up to Easter.  During this time the Churches are devoted to fasting, abstinence, and penitence in commemoration of Christ's fasting in the wilderness.

This year I have decided to join the She Reads Truth Lent Devotional.
Each day there are a few different verses to read and reflect on.  After my readings I like to go into my journaling bible and create an entry to correlate with one of the readings for that day.  I also have a travelers notebook that I have been journaling in as well to correlate with the day's readings.

Ash Wednesday: Day 1

Day 3

Day 4

Day 6

Day 7

On days 2 and 5 I choose not to do any bible journaling and instead I journaled in my travelers Lent notebook.

During this first week of Lent we read that we serve a merciful and loving God.  We fall short of his commandments, which is why he sent His son here for us.  God wants us to come to him with humbled hearts, with repentance for all of our evil ways.  Our God is a sovereign God, who forgives those that truly seek it.  When we repent of our sins and ask God to forgive us, he washes our sins white as snow, and seasons of refreshing can begin.  I encourage you to devote some time during this Lent season to dig into God's word.  Draw near to Him.

God Bless,

Krystal
